When I first began lifting I put on ~20#, my waist went down an inch, my bench press went form ~100# to 210#, and my squat went up even higher (I don't know how much because I ran out of weights). I made these gains in about a 6 week period. Man, did that feel good! I just wonder how many of you have had some of these immense jumps in progress. IP: Logged |

One word for you BULLSHIT, sorry but there's no way you can increase your bench from 100 to 210 in 6 weeks let alone 6 months, well maybe six months if your juicen. Keep dreamin and keep liftin. Peace IP: Logged |

100 to 210 is a pretty big jump, but when you first start lifting your strength literally catapults up. when i first started in high school i was making lots of gains every week, and now that i'm in college i have to work so fucking hard to get every last pound on that bench. my guess is that your 1rm was a little more than 100 when you started out, but you just didn't know it. but who knows. one more addition to what you said adawg...i'd be willing to bet that the more weight he added to his squat, the less deep he went, heh IP: Logged |

I want to let you guys know that the gains I posted are not BULLSHIT. I swear to god everything I posted is true. As far as the depth of my squats, I can tell you that they actually got DEEPER as I became more comfortable with the movement. The only reasoning I can come up with such big gains is that I was stronger that my poundages led me to believe, but I got used to pushing through the pain. However, that does not explain the gain in weight. In any case, I'd like to state that I am not lying, I'm telling the truth and nothing but the truth. Does anybody out there have any idea how this happened? I am by no means a genetic superfreak. IP: Logged |

if what you are saying is true then damn I wish I had your genetics and recovery ability, that's just insane!!! 110 pound increase in bench in 6 weeks, that's a little under 20 pounds per week. When I first started I put 20 pounds on my bench in a month. Since that point I've lost about 25 pounds in body weight so have only been able to add on another 20 pounds to my bench in 3 months. I'm still a weak guy but getting there :-), I currently bench 175 for 8 reps, squat 280 for 20 reps, and deadlift 195 for 8 reps(just started deadlifting a month ago and have been adding 10 pounds a week since so I'm not sure what my max is,just trying to go slow so I don't get injured.) you always see your biggest gains when you first start lifting. i've been doing it 10 years now, the gains will come harder with time. that's when you have to tune your diet and adjust your training appropriately to keep gains coming. IP: Logged |
