I am always wandering....Say for instance you do 2 muscle groups on one day. Like Biceps and Legs, just for example. Are you supposed to work one first then the other?, or can you alternate...Like a leg exercise, then a Bicep, then a leg..ect...? Gary

Stay with the muscle group that you are currently working. You are much less adapt to injure the muscle group because it will already be "warmed up". The blood flow to the muscle will also be concentrated. Also, stick to working muscle groups that complement one another:

Shoulders, chest and triceps
Legs and calves
Back(rear delts fall in here too), abs and biceps

Big, heavy coumpound movements

Thanks...I have been working chest and tris....BACk and biceps.....and legs and abs on a repaeating twice per week...ON MTWTFS sunday off. I felt I was overtraining a bit. SO i switched to a 4 on 1 off program, where I lift chest/traps/shoulders day 1......Biceps calves day 2.....Triceps abs day 3.....and back and legs day 4 then a rest day then repeat again. I felt i needed to give my muscles more time to recover, so I upped my rest inbetween workout for each part from 4 days to 6. I have just started, so I dont know how im fairing yet...But trying to do 2 major parts in one day like back and biceps was too demanding, and I ended up doing less quality work toward teh end of the workout. I agree with mossberg, it's good....but if one was on a tight schedule and had little time he could do a leg set then a bicep set, seeing as he properly warmed up and stretched out those muscle groups.

all I'm saying is take the words "supposed to" outta there because there's all kinds of things that work...find what works for you and what you like

I'm actually alternating exercises for different body parts right now, and I really like it. You can actually finish a workout much faster than you'd normaly be able to. The trick is not to wait too long between sets, since you don't want to cool down too much.
