Its been 3 years since I broke my right arm(compound fracture)in 7th grade and I have been lifting on and off after that.The problem is when my right arm was recovering I only lifted with my left. Now,my right arm is lagging behind;my left arm measures 16 inches around the bicep area while my left is only 13 inches!! My biceps on the left has seperated the 2 heads while my right hasn't. My right hand can only curl half as heavy as my left hand. Please I need serious help!!! I need a workout routine that will force my right hand to catch up. IP: Logged |

Stick exclusevely to dumbells, stay away from barbells. im guessing in barbell curls that ur left arm covers up for your right arm. So, always from now on do dumbells. i had the same problem with my right leg; i tore my right acl and it was so far behind my left. the way i solved it was simple: i fucking worked my right leg so hard and ate so much protein that it had no choice but to grow. i also worked it another day by itself three days after the leg day, with higher reps. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Using db's. BB will just make the problem worse because you are favouring the stronger arm. This should apply to all you training. Always do at least one exercise singularly so you don't become asymmetrical. IP: Logged |

I started to lose Strength and size on the right hand side of my upper body(particularly the bicep).Went to a chiropractor and discovered that the signal the muscle gets from the brain to work was getting blocked.After 4 visits strength and size have come back to normal.Give it a try. IP: Logged |

I also tore my ACL and in order to bring it back up to speed, I did a lot of unilateral training: one-legged presses, calf-raises, hamstring curls, and extensions. I would recommend doing the exact same for the arms. Start with your weaker arm, do as many reps as you can, and then do the exact same number of reps (with the same weight) with your stronger arm...do not do more than you did with your weaker arm. This should bring them to a level field in a relatively short time. Also, if you're trying to build arm size, remember that the triceps make up a much larger proportion of the mass of the upper arm...so work them hard as well, using the same principles. IP: Logged |
