I have a new job that's really going to cut into my gym time. Has anyone tried training very intensely ... but only on Saturday and Sunday mornings? On one hand, I'd have the focus to make it through some killer work-outs, but on the other, I wonder if I can achieve gains in size and strength on a schedule like this. Let Ed O. Puss know, OK? Thanks! [This message has been edited by Ed O. Puss-Rexx (edited March 07, 2000).] IP: Logged |

Scarab is right to a certain extent. Whil you won't benefit as much by just training on the weekends as you normally would, You will still be in much better shape than a person who doesn't work out at all. My advice would be to just try and watch what you during the week, and then go hard as you normally would on the weekend. Good Luck IP: Logged |

Thanks for the advice. To push things along, I actually could work out during the week, but now I'm sleeping a full 8 hours every night, which I've never done regularly as an adult. It's improving my recovery like you wouldn't believe. The other thing is that my weekdays aren't rest days but ACTIVE rest days. I still do sprints, stretches, push-ups, pull-ups, and all of that in the mornings - not too much, just enough to wake up and keep everything alive. Finally, the weekend workout is a killer. I've only done it once, and I hurt for 5 days afterward! Saturday is push parts. Sunday is pull parts. Each day there's 6 movements, each with the following rep pattern: 12-9-6-3-1-3-6-9-12. Any additional comments? [This message has been edited by Ed O. Puss-Rexx (edited March 24, 2000).] IP: Logged |
