How many people use HIT training opposed to the "Weilder" system which is generally a four day split of Chest/Tris, Back/Bis, Shoulders/Calvs, Abs/Legs? With 8-12 reps of 3 to 4 sets.

If I'm not mistaken HIT is generally three times a week with 1 or 2 sets of 8 reps with strict form.

I ask because when I'm "on" the Weilder system works, but when I'm off I think I'm over training. Just wanted some input.

I haven't flat barbell bench pressed in a year. I do work out 15 reps of 100#, 10 reps of 110#, 6 reps of 115#.

Curls with 50# dumbbells, 90# ezbar preacher curls.

Amrs is a two hour lift, we do everything from, straight bar curls, seated dumbell, preacher curl, and isolated dumbell curl for bi's. Tri's consist of Pull down's,Skull crusher, close grip bench press, and Over the head Tricep extensions. All sets have to warm up reps, with a light wait. So basically 5 sets per exercise. Reps depends on you. I lift pretty heavy at the end of each set.

Strange Mr. Everyday I do the exact same workout, its the bomb for me. Some people think you have to train the same bodypart 2 or 3 times a week. When do you let the muscle repair if you lift that much? Hell if I know. If anyone can tell me, let me know.

BB, everyone has their own ideas. I was talking to ppl in the gym... and... the guys that where noticably bigger then me said they trained on a three day split with one day off.

At the point and time, I'm more confused than before. In theroy, you would be over training, but tell that to them!

Don't get me wrong, but when you listed your weights were you talking about individual dumbell weight? I hope so. To tell you the truth your name says it all. every day in the gym. that is a sure way to gain no muscle and get burnt out and quit lifting. HIT training is not 3 days a week. It is generaly one or two days. go to www.cyberpump.com if you want to know more. when you are in the gym you are stimulating growth. when you are out of the gym you are growing.

Ive seen good gains hitting the muscles as hard as I can, then I give them time to repair and GROW, thats why I am doing this in the first place. I used to hit the muscles twice in a seven day cycle but most of my gains stopped.Since I work the muscle group once in a 4 to 5 week cycle I have made some serious gains in strenghth and size.Works for me but like you said Mr. everyday different strokes for different folks.

Mr Lee, Yes that was per side or per dumbbell. I thought that would be pretty easy to figure out, I should have made it more clear so you could figure it out.

Thanks for your input though.

I'm gonna try a three day split per Arnold's new book (can't be any worse than Flex's idea workout!)

Monday/Wed/Fri
abs, Chest, Back, Thighs, Calves

Tues/Thurs/Sat
Abs, Shoulders, Arms, Calvs

I know I'll overtrain but I'll never know until I try. Every 3 - 6 months I change my workout completely, this will change it. Actually, I'll probably not workout Wed, and Sat to give myself more rest.

Like Stacker, I have a very similar work-out:

Mon Chest
Tue Back
Wed Shoulders
Thur Off
Fri Arms
Sat Legs
Sun Off

I have seen some real good gains, but am now wondering if maybe I could have better ones with a different routine. Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

What do you guys think about this one:

Day Routine
1 Chest/ tri's
2 Legs/abs
3 Off
4 Back/Bi's
5 Shoulders/abs
6 Off
7 Off

It is a little different than most. On the off days I either rest or do cardio.
