I've got a few questions: will smoking marijuana maybe twice a week adversely affect my lifting??? I've heard some rumors about marijuana decreasing testosterone levels, but I have a feeling that is just government propaganda. I've heard of "amotivational syndrome" but I am not worried about that because I have a good drive in the weight room. Any advice will help. Thanks | ||

I'm 22, havent ever done a cycle and I have a little bit of gyno. I think it was from smoking weed for the last 5 years. I quit it though in November. BEST decision I ever could have made dude. I breathe better and my sex drive is higher. Weed definately kills your testosterone. I say this from my experience, and research I have done. | ||

It's not propaganda, it's really does lower test. I haven't smoked in months bcz I wanted to start doing cardio for weight loss. If you have to sometimes, you have to, but twice a week is too much. This is what I would do: smoke weed on an off day where you won't be training heavy the next day. Again, don't do it every week, and in moderation, and try to do it as early as possible, don't stay up too late: that's what will really mess your training up. It's better than getting pissed drunk and taking in 600-1000 cals from alcohol at 1 o'clock in the morning. | ||

Personally, my lifting ability in terms of strength was fine but my lung capacity, especially during squats, was sorely lacking. I also had the munchies from hell while dieting. For me, lifting is easier and more productive without it. Also, to the best of my knowledge, I've never personally known anyone to get gyno from smoking marijuana -- but that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Check out the web-sites out there. I have done it twice, I am the type that can do just as much when on it. Except go in a public place, if I go in a public place about 10 minutes after getting high, I laugh my ass off at the stupidest shit...at anything. |
