Does anyone have any idea where I can get my hands on some very light barbell plates (lower than 2.5lbs)? I am a firm believer that worrying about small poundage increases over a short period of time instead of a sudden 50lb jump will yield big increases over a longer period of time. I'm trying to improve my 4RM on the bench by about 5-10lbs each month, but it's kind of hard to improve slowly if the weight jumps are in 5lb increments (by two 2.5lb plates). Anybody have any idea where I can get something smaller? Thanks, ------------------ BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!!!

These people do small magnetic discs which will attach to dumbells as well as larger plates: PlateMates ------------------

Whats wrong with the 2.5's??? ------------------

Nothing's wrong with the 2.5's, but if I'm trying to make a 5lb jump in 1 month, then I want to go up slowly each week. I don't like doing extra reps. I like to keep my rep scheme constant and just increase weight, and if I'm trying to increase 5-10lbs over the course of one month, throwing on 5lbs in one week would be too much (comparatively speaking, of course). -Warik ------------------ BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!!! |
