I always choose the Ez curl bar..
I can pile on more weight, the dumbell I find works my traps more than teh EZ curl bar.

DB - one handed, DB - two handed, BB (straight/ez/triceps bar) or ropes. I like variety.

I can isolate my triceps better and maintain good balance with an EZ bar. DB's seem to bring the forearms into play more for me. Also, OH Tri Extensions work well on an incline bench.

I love 'em overhead with a DB. I feel it a lot more than when I'm using an EZ bar. Since I don't usually work out with a partner, the only problem is the escalating weight I've been using and getting the DB up and down from overhead. That won't be a problem for a while since I hurt my rotator cuff (not doing this exercise) and need to be careful with what I do before I'm back doing my complete workouts.

I normally do high rep dumbbell as a warm up, then near the middle to end of my workout, go heavy with the e-z curl bar.
