I am purchasing this from newyorkbarbells.com. The weight set is 300 lbs, I'll get some bumper plates later on.

This combination might work, too. As long as the bench can be flat.

Well I am not going to get those just yet, luckily I did find a good non-pussy gym there in Florida. I am so relieved. But hopefully I'll save enough up by summer time to get the power rack, bench and weights. I still like the idea of owning my equipment.

Go for the rack and bench. There's a lot more excercises you can do with it than the bench lower down. Just get some wooden blocks to incline/ decline the basic flat bench to save money.

Yup, I love my rack. It has caught the bar for me a few times, saving my life! The smaller one is nice for people who don't lift heavy. If you're serious about your poundages, though, you need those "catcher bars"! Keep looking for a bench that will incline and decline for you, though. It will be worth a few extra bucks.

that rack is junk. I would spend a little more money and by a Parabody Power Rack.

Oh my God, $700??!! Check out fitnessfactory.com. For even better prices on their stuff, do you have a "Play it Again Sports" store nearby? I have the Body Solid equipment from them and it's awesome stuff with decent prices.

Hmm, gotta disagree with you there, Bud. I love the 2 pieces I've got. They're good and sturdy and have a lifetime guarantee. Maybe the stuff you've seen at Play it Again has been used (and abused) stuff.
