So I am reading Encyclopedia of BodyBuilding by MuscleMag and find that they really discredit the idea of training one body part a day -- what are your guys thoughts? Personally I do it and have awesome result but maybe there is a better way.

bump. i get the same results from one body part a day. the way im tring to look at it is, what would you rather do 1 hour 3 days a week,or 30 min. 6 times a day? i personaly dont like to be in the gym long so il leaning to the more day.sorry it may be to some overtraining but if you look at it form the time perspective. its the same.

I think the idea is that you cannot soley train any bodypart (!) almost every movement relies on a complex set of contraction. for example: a pushup, or dip, or bench press, or even a tricep extension...

i'm an advocate of the one body part/day myself(ast's max-ot program) and have gained considerable strength and size.i enjoy this program because it gives you the chance to concentrate and focus on the body part being trained.i wouldn't have it any other way.i have tried many routines and for myself,i feel that w/ this program i can maximize my intensity every single workout.fyi. ------------------

I also am an advocate of the one bodypart a day theory. I find that If the time and effort is spent in breaking down of each muscle group, there is not enough energy left to do another bodypart. I didn't start truely becoming large till I changed to this type of routine. ------------------ |
