Monday Barbell bench 2x3-6 Military press w/ barbell 2 sets of 4-6 Close grip bench press 3 sets of 6-8 Abs and calves Friday Barbell squats 2 sets of 4 (currently) Saturday Deadlift 2 sets of 4-6 barbell shrugs 3 sets of 4-6 barbell curls 2 sets of 4-6 Hamstring press on leg press (only heels contact leg press platform) 3 sets of 6-8 Calves and abs That is all. Please let me know what you think.

garza what do you do for biceps? i didn't see anything that would hit them. maybe throw in another shoulder exercise like lateral raises. i would throw in some incline work on your chest day along with more shoulder work. what exactly do you do for calves? ------------------

how long do your workouts last, out of curiousity? I honestly feel that it would be beneficial for you to do ONE high rep set of each exercise you do, say 10 reps. you'll gain some good strength with that routine but you cannot stimulate enough muscle fiber with that low of reps, IMO

Valdez it usually lasts about an hour, each session. Legs one hour, chest shoulders tris one hour...etc. ------------------

Looks to me like way too many pushing movements lumped together. Chest/Shoulders/Tris. I would break up chest/shoulders and do them on their own day. If you are hitting your chest the way you should you couldn't possibly hit shoulders and tris with the same intensity. LOL

quote: hmmm. that's longer than I suspected. not a prob I guess but your 16 so I think training for strength MAY not be the best approach. my strength has not peaked yet and I am 20. it might be more beneficial for you to train a little more for muscle mass than strength as when you mature the muscle mass you put on now will undoubtedly help later. just a suggestion. |
