If I remember correct you are pretty young, it is possible your stabilizer muscles in your arms are not strong enough yet. concentrate on a controlled movement (especially the negative) they will get stronger in not too much time.

The fact that your stabiliser muscles are used to such a large extent is exactly the reason that you should persevere.

If you include some sort of dumbbell pressing movement in either your chest or shoulder workouts every week, and concentrate on slowly increasing the intensity (either reps or weight) you should see improvements very quickly.

You could also try forearm and grip work to see if this helps.

Good luck

You need to carry on doing db's to get auxillary muscle balance. Concentrate on slow negatives.

Also remember that your more muscles get stronger much faster than your connective tissues , try to stick with your current program and weights for a while before increasing the intensity of the exercise . Good luck

This often happens to people who use a lot of machines, particularly Smith. Flat DB press relies a lot on the strength of your Rotator muscles. Try doing some DB Rotator cuff work.

It is definitely in your best interest to be able to overload your chest with Flat and Incline DB press.
