Hard to beat the feeling after a great workout(great sex would be the only one for me). I must be addicted to the pump or endorphin rush because on off days I am always crankier. Has probably caused me to overtrain over the years. Anyone else like this?

Me too, that's why I only schedule one day off. But, I don't lift every day. Only 4 times weekly during bulking, two days cardio. Not much time left in the week to get bent out of shape when not training.

It's even more difficult for me to take a much deserved week off every few months. Last time I did this I still ended up working out a couple of days.

I love days off. They are great for the mindset of getting back to the gym. By the time you are off a couple of days...you are dying to get back in the gym. I lift 2 days a week, and one day on events. About to go to lifting 3 days a week though, plus one day events.

No, I love days off. I always feel a good pump in my back from deadlifts all week long, same with squats. Gives me time to think about training and what not.

I love my days off. Yes I would rather be in the gym, but its time to rest..... because thats when you really grow. So I focus on allowing my body to recover and eat to fuel my muscles and get ready to hit it hard again!!

I like, as well as enjoy my days off too. Although... If it goes beyond 3 days (which is very rare, I can be a bit cranky) hehe..

What are days off???? I dont take them i just rotate different types of training running, boxing. I find that it keeps the mind and body going. Just make sure you get enough sleep and fuel. Try it and enjoy.

Keep trining and stay tough

I love off days because this gives me a chance to observe my progress and it can help me improve my routine for the future. I also take my time and read weight lifting books (mainly HIT).

I like off-days (and love on-days) off days are a time to relax (physically) and pursure other life-goals while knowing full-well that if you "eat like a horse" you will continue to make progress.

I once believed that training was everything, and the more I experience my path in bodybuilding it has been diet/rest and perseverence in avoiding unproductive behavior that has contributed to my gains. HIT labeled himself a "big guy" I judge myself as being above average for the weightlifting populas, 5'7" 190-195 at a fairly low BF (natural).

off-days are a day to reflect, and relax. I love them. they are also a needed period in which the nervous system and the mind to grow "hungry" for another workout.

And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

I miss the gym when I'm not there
Have to do it though, so I can make further progress and give my body a rest!

Not really you need for your body to rest a while after a hard workout!

Hell, yeah! Days off suck! Pump iron! Seriously though....I would rather be in the gym than almost anywhere. To me, a great pump is extremely euphoric. Almost as good as sex.

I used to hate off days when I was at college and had plenty of time up my sleeve. But now I'm working full-time I have a pretty hectic schedule so I don't mind it so much when I take days off from the gym now, especially during winter when its snowing outside.

I take 1 day a week off (Sunday), on which I try to rest & eat as much as I can. Every Sunday night I take my measurements, BF%, & track my progress; this gets me amped for the next week and reaching my goals.
