I started using some little things like strap's a few week's ago,for my pulling movement's,i have used them a total of 3 or 4 time's,my weight being used in the lift has gone up some, but with out the strap's, i would not have been able to move that weight.
My problem is that my wrist are now hurting ,kinda like a dull aching pain, to some of you people who have used straps a long time , is this just a beginner thing that will go away? or am i probally not cut out for using straps? I admit that i think i am addicted to them now, because i hate it when i cant lift the same weight that i was liftin a week ago. HELP !

Could be too tight, cutting off blood supply or is it more friction burn soreness?
Straps should only be worn one way round. Where the end passes through the loophole forming a 'T' the longer side (top of the T) should be on the side of the hand closest to the thumb. Apparentlt allows for the best circulation and stronger grip this way. Also try using them only when you absolutely have to or else your grip will become proportionately even weaker.

in my opinion, you should not be using straps...even if you can't lift the same weight without them.by training without straps you will enforce your grip strength tremendously and all your lifts will benefit from this.in addition, you will also notice a better concentration level without straps, because you will be considering things such as balance, grip and making sure you pull the prescribed amount of reps.straps will make you lift more for sure, but your wrists will suffer because you will grow dependant on them...and if your wrists are weak...all your lifts will suffer!

...I don't use straps but I do have to watch
my wrists due to occasional wrist pain(from
my job).I tape mine(cheap! a dollar and change at wal-mart)and I've got a good pair of gloves with wrist supports.

I do not wear straps anymore. No need to unless I am deadlifting close to 600. Just use them on your heaviest set only. Don't use gloves either.
