My gym has no neck machines, so all i can use is my neck harness that i bought from the store...
The only problem i have is i have no idea how many times a week or how many reps and sets im suppose to do ,to build a bigger neck!
I looked on the internet and cant seem to find any sites with good info on how to build my neck bigger.
Thankyou for any information or advice....

Anthony

Personally I would use the harness the same day that I train traps. I would only start w/ 1 to 2 working sets the first day, then work up from there.
Question, why exactly are you worried about the size of your neck?

I might train it once a week for a few weeks. Do just one set, very light weight, not very hard either. Your neck is not a set of muscles that you really want to get sore. Well, not at first anyway. Start light and increase as you need to. After a month or so...start going heavier.

I here ya bro, neck training is a neglected art unless you are into wrestling or football. I personally think a big neck makes you look strong as hell, though my girlfriend doesn't share this asthetic appreciation. Try the following: Use the neck harness for extensions(back of neck). For the front and sides try a plate(maybe 25lbs to start) with a towel underneath. Lay across a bench(to allow for a stretch) and place this on your forhead for neck flexion. You can work the sides of your neck by placing this across your temple while laying on your side. Keep your reps high(around 20) so you can get away with less weight and shoot for 2 days/week. Crude but effective--my neck is about 21" and I've never had access to any of the fancy machines before.

Thanks again,

I agree, a big neck is impressive, and people will notice it right awa.

First off, go get a harness. They're only like $20. Then go here and checkout the weighted exercises. http://www.planetkc.com/exrx/lists/ExList/NeckWt.html#anchor170155

Baically the same exercises armsport described.

I train my neck every week. Usually 3 sets and the reps vary depending on the load. I like to hit it after I do traps. Sometimes I'll hit it twice a week but I make sure to space it out at least 3-4 days.

Neck bends and resistance exercises are good too, but I don't think anything hits it quite like a good harness.

If you can't get a neck harness you don't need one. I lie on a bench with my head overhanging. Then put a plate on a towel on my forehead. I also clip my weights belt to the low pulley and place it around my head sat on a bench and work each side and the back.
