Yeah I agree with MM. Sometimes I do abs on "squat day" since my legs only take about 30 minutes. I like to do squats with dumbells. Hard to explain but I use 50 lb dumbells, 3 sets of 12 to 15.

the only downside is if find it hard to do incline situps after squats. don't know if this is good or bad

I do abs before legs ---to warm them up---also hypers -light sets--your abs get strained during squats --its not a bad idea to work them or atleast stretch them out before you kill your legs.

Your abs are f***ed after squats because these are postyral muscles and are put under severe strain when squating as to maintain posture. Hip flexors are also f***ed from squats which does not help exercises such as incline situps.
I personally do 3 sets of 40 crunches reasonably well with 30 secs rest after training legs.

I do abs after most workouts, even including cardio days if time is permitted. I train mornings before work.

Garza I used to train abs doing declines with dumbbells to add resistance. I was all the way up to 150 lbs on my upper chest.

Then, I found a much more effective way to do the same exercise. (declines) Take a flat plate start with something light. Place it behind your head with your elbows as wide as possible, then do your declines.

It's so much more difficult on your abs, if you keep your elbows wide, than it is holding a dumbbell. When holding a dumbbell it's more natural to cheat by holding the weight.

Another effective, but fairly advanced way to train abs is with ankle weights. Bent knee crunches. Keep elbows wide, bring knees up, and raise shoulders as much as possible off of the floor or bench, whatever surface you're using. Hold the contraction then bring your legs and shoulders back down, but don't allow your feet to touch.
