Seems like the more I gain in muscle the slower I get especially when on AS's ...I want to gain muscle mass and strength and still keep my hand speed to throw a punch. Is it the more muscle you gain the slower you punch? Any tips on how to train?

The more QUALITY muscle you gain...the faster you will be. Do not lose your flexibility. It may be natural to slow down little during AS use due to large weight gain, especially if it is one of your first cycles. Train your punches right after your lifting. When you are sore...your punches will be slower too. I have trained in MA for 15 years and my kicks are always slower on Mondays after I do legs, and very slow on Tuesday when they are really sore. By Friday they are lightning again. Email me if you have any other questions. B True

B fold is correct. Most bodybuilders ignor their stretching and don't do any bag work / sparring so they do become tighter and slower. Make sure you keep doing it. I hate it when I've done legs, then a day or two later I'll be doing a warm up routine, stretching them. I'll be in absolute agony but I can't let the students know that. Most of the kids there think I'm super human or something. |
