Instead of doing 185 lbs on squat for 2 sets of 8 I did Squats 205 lbs for 2 sets of 4 My form needs a bit of work but was better than I had expected, all around good form. I'm happy to be squatting this much. I have always been small and in my freshmen year (2.5 years ago) I was one of the weakest in my strength and conditioning class. I could only use like 85 on squats for sets of 8. Just over a year ago I began weighlifting on my own time. When I started squatting I was lucky to use 95 lbs for 2 sets of 10. It feels great to make this progress. It may sound like low numbers to some of you, but keep in mind i'm 16, when I was 14 I thought I'd never be able to do that much. I'm sure I'll feel the same way a few years down the road when I'm using 500 plus. ------------------ | ||

Yea the progress will come,i remember when i started about a year and a half ago,i started with 95 pounds,i was doing the high reps,i kept thinking it will be cool when i can put a big plate on each side and squat,well that day came and went,now i use the one big plate on each side to warm up with...i am now doing 2 big plates and a ten on each side(255),still doing the high rep's, man i cant wait till i can do 3 big plates on each side that will be cool... |
