I've always done them with back.
It seems to me that all of the rowing movements and pulldown movements hit the rear delts indirectly yet heavily.
I usually just add 2-3 sets of bent-over rear laters (*strict*) and I'm good to go. however semetrically my rear delts are lacking a little bit, so I am considering working them twice a week, once on back day and as you suggested also on chest/shoulder day.

I'm doing a three day push, pull, legs split so I will probably do them on both upper body days.

later.

I always do it with shoulders, since it is your shoulder. But I can see why people do it with back.

I've done it both ways, depending on how I prioritise the rest of my workout. I find they get better developement when worked with back and traps.

I do rear delts once weekly with shoulders and back. Bent over raises seated or standing, and/or rear delt machine. I always do shoulders first, then rear delts, then back.

The shoulders and back you should try and work together on the same day and then you'll be able to concentrate on you rear delts in the process since the work for both the shoulders and back

I work my whole upper body on day 1. That way I get to tie in everything on that day. Plus I love having a huge pump in my upper body. I do 2 exercises 2 sets. For delts and traps I just do wide grip upright rows. I find after all the presses and rows I do, my delts get stimuated just enough!

I am not really a bodybuilder so I don't worry much about them. I do heavy wide grip T bar rows, that probably hits them.

yeah that'l hit them garza: just look at your shoulders when you start gaining some serious size.

my front delts have a much higher peak and are beefier than my rear delts and my medial delts. so I need to focus on lots of side laterals and rear laterals.

I switch it up every few months for variety. A few months doing rear delts with shoulders and then a few months training with back.

Back in the end of the workout sometimes to get a little extra pump I'll do them first.

PH21,
I've done them both ways. However, I don't always do them with back since I do a lot of work on back day (chins, rows, T-Bars, etc.) but I always do them with shoulders. I like doing them either way, but it seems like they get their heaviest work from heavy rowing-motion movements. My suggestion would be to hit them heavy on back day with compound movements, and then do your isolationary stuff (bent-oner laterals, etc.) with shoulders. I'd only do this if your back and shoulder day are at least 2 or 3 days apart though.

i always do rear delts with delts, but i find i can't do traps (shrugs) after i have a rear delt pump. so i either do traps with back when i do rears with delts and when i do rears with back i do traps with delts

Here's a killer works every time shoulder workout that will produce! at the military press rack load the bar with your first set weight, (mine is 135lbs)also have dumbells for bent laterals (35lbs for me) and side laterals (25lbs for me). Do a strict set of behind or in front military presses for 10 - 12 reps, then immediately lean down and do 10 - 12 reps of bent laterals, then immediately set up and do as many side laterals as you can (usually 6 - 10 before you drop the weights and wanna cry!). do this 3 - 4 times (you'll be lucky to get 4)Coming from a guy who grew huge shoulders in only 2 months, this works!!!!!!!!!!! Plus it's quick and easy, all is done from one seated position. Try it you'll like it!
