As i read this board i realize that people are more worried what splits they should do weither to touch your chest or not, or barbell vs dumbell, rather then focus on more important aspect in lifting " Movements for size and strenght" . Gentlemen, there is no guess work when it comes to what makes us grow. Here is a hint, it is the exersises in the gym you don't see people doing(depends where you train). Rules of thumb.
2. Controlling the weight. 2 to 3 seconds to lower the weight and blast up, your negative works your muscle as hard or in some cases harder then your positive. 3. No more than 12 sets for major muscle group(not including warmup) and for minor. If you can't destroy your muscles within 12 sets you aren't going heavy enought. 4. 6-12 rep range no less no more only on ocassion should you dip under the 4 rep range mark. Otherwise don't make it common practice, or your injury will soon await! 5. More is better. The mind set" If i do 10 sets than 20 will really make me grow!" Stupidist thing i have ever heard. See rule 3. Folks these are just a portion of the sound principles i follow. There is two things more important than your training when it comes to being succesfull. Diet and mental approach. But that is a very long thread, i don't feel like taking on right now. ------------------

Here is another key. Nutrition, what a concept. If you dont fuel the fire it won't burn. Or maybe the more I drink and party(and don't sleep) it will make me grow. ------------------

I personally agree,BUT, A LOT of people are in it for the look's and to get the girls,ya know they just want to pump there pec's and bicep's,i mean come on when was the last time a girl told you "that is the biggest squat i have ever seen" or "WOW,nice deadlift".

I agree with the Steelsoldier. He seems to really know what being a hardcore maniac is. I think that is what his poing is anyway...being hardcore and truly focused. Not worried about that chrome plated machine full of false promises, but that rusty cold piece of steele we call a barbell to make you grow. Just my thoughts Go Steelsoldier B True |
