Dont bother with the Mega Mass crap bro, its all sugar and cheap protein. Go check out Myoplex(EAS) or Designer Protein(next nutrition). Do some reading on the different kinds of proteins before you blow any money on stuff. Some will be used better than others(whey), but possibly too quickly, so you can toss in some less efficient but slower absorbing protein like Casienate. Anyway, do some reading, check out the archives here too. ------------------

I agree with Thaibox. I do not use prot powders at all. I have a stash of MyoPlex for just in case situations. If I am in a spot where I can't eat for a long time...I take a few with me. Good for traveling. I really believe that if you can just eat food, you will do fine. Just eat a lot. Food is always better than MyoPlex or pro powders or whatever liquid...Always. IMO if you are drinking your calories you are short changing yourself food wise. B True

Food is the way to go.Protein drinks and MRPs should really only be used to supply a small portion of your diet. They shouldnt be the major part of it.I personally dont use anything but ordinary whey and some casein for protein (a small % of it) and look to get my calories from food. But if you really need a weightgainer i have heard many people say N-large2 is a good drink. As for creatine the archives will most likely provide you with the answers to ALL your questions.

If like me you find it hard to eat loads of food then protein drinks are useful-theyre just convienient. What i do is go down to the local health shop, where they have lots of bodybuilding supplements and pick a relativly good protein powder, preferably whey (read the archives for why). If you want caesin, buy some SANATOGEN protein powder, this is all caesin and mix it in with your whey. As for tasting like shit, buy a flavour you like! (i.e. not strawberry). As for what protein you buy, try and get filtered protein that hasn't been done by heat (so look for cross filtration, ion exchange etc.) this ensures a higher grade of protein. Try and avoid the con companies-check the internet for scams. Creatine Monohydrate is a supplemental form of creatine, an amino acid found within the human body which is not a constituent of any proteins. It is bound to an ATP molecule (energy molecule), and is found in meats such as beef but in low quantites. Taking Creatine Monohydrate has been shown to delay the onset of fatigue during intensive exercise and to shorten recovery time after intensive exercise. It does this by reducing the production of ammonia during exercise Creatine Monohydrate also increases nitrogen retention in the body for use in the creation and repair of muscle. When used with a suitable training program Creatine Monohydrate stimulates muscle growth. It increases the uptake of water into the muscles i think. You apparently notice an increase in muscle size due to the water. Not sure if this translates into extra strength though. I'm not sure but if you stop using it, your muscles will lose some but not all mass. There have been side effects reported (such as swelling of the face?) but these might just be scaremongering. Anyone else know? If you do need more info, go to the search button on the training board and check the archives. They are good!

One MRP that I've used is great. It's called Muscle Meals, from the supplement company Muscle Link. It's very good. It's cheaper than Myoplex, the taste isn't bad and I believe it's nutritionally complete. Each serving has around 320 calories, 11 grams of EFAs (Essential Fatty Acids), 12 grams of low glycemic carbs, 2 grams of sugar, 40 grams of protein (Micellar Casein, Whey Protein, Egg White). It is sweetened with sucralose (sp?). And each serving has 10 grams of glutamine peptides. You can a box of 20 for 36 bucks at www.netrition.com Pretty good price. ------------------ Check out http://pub30.ezboard.com/bhitsgymofbodybuilding -HB-

As far as taste and value I like: Designer protein, Prophase, Pure Whey Protein Stack from champion nutrition (best tasting I've ever had), Myoplex is pretty good, I had it at the gym and all their shakes are thick as mud with milk so that may have altered the taste.
