No, The reason I ask is I used to know a guy who based on what I call "pinch test"(with his hands not calipers) & physical examination could get within roughly 3-4%. I wondered if any here knew a general way to do this or does it take just a good "eye" and experience.

Steelhart,

If that's a formula email it to me or post it. I don't a tape to measure my wrist. Also where to base your waist measurment relative to your navel?

you cant get a accurate bodyfat count from measurements of just waist height wrist weight. I know of people that weigh 250 at 5'10 with 7'1/4 wrist and over a 37' waist and ripped but with your way of testing that 37 inch waist will throw your method off. This guy competed at 3 1/2 percent with that size waist.

Its not accurate but its a guide line that he can use. Or just go out and buy a fat meter.

Well, there are pretty much only a few levels of bodyfat which can all be determined by your shape...

big belly + love handles = 20% +
medium belly + love handles = 18-20%
small belly + love handles = 16-18%
no belly + love hanles = 14-16%
no belly, no love handles, no six pack = 10-14%
slight six pack = 8-10%
rock hard six pack = 8% -

this isn't exact, but close.

Have you tried one of those machines you stand on which measures the composition of your body, i.e. muscle, organs, bones, fat. They are pretty accurate as far as I know.
