I am working with a25 year old woman who is almost 6 feet tall and needs to lose 40 pounds of fat. I have just been having her do weights and have a restricted diet. Results are so so, I wish they could be better. If you were training her, how would you go about it?

Aerobics is a good way to shed fat. Have her start out by doing two 15 minute aerobic sessions a week. They should be on nonweight training days. The intensity should be low-moderate. She should never get to the point where she can barely speak. I recommend adding 1-5 minutes to each session every week or two. She should never do more than 45 minutes of aerboics and no less than 20 minutes. The 15 minutes is just to get her used to aerobic, this is more like a preconditioning plan. The best time, if possible, would be first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. Have her drink water before her session, but give her enough time to let the water go through. It sucks stoping every 5 minutes to take a piss during training. If her diet and training is in check, then that is all the advice I can offer. Good luck with training your friend/client.
