Are you asking me for a HIT program or are you asking me about the HIT philosophy? HIT stands for High Intensity Training. The object of HIT is to use fewer sets, but making the most out of each set. Basically you want to try to damage as many muscle fibers on each set. The less sets the better. HIT is designed to give you good results, by working out less. Here's is an example of a basic HIT routine. There are more advanced versions. Monday Squat 1 x 12-20 to failure Thursday Stiff-Legged Deadlift 1 x 12-20 to failure Try to add a few pounds on each exercise every week or two, but don't add too much weight, you'll eventually burn out. Add maybe 1-2 pounds a week. If you added weight progressively and your cycle lasted 10 weeks, you would be up 10-20 pounds on each exercise. Be sure to keep your diet in check. You might want to consider doing 2 cardio sessions a week. 20-45 minutes of high intensity cardio should be enough. Be sure to warm up before each workout. Start out by doing 10 minutes of light cardio and stretch for about 5 minutes. Do 2-3 warm up sets before your work set. If you have anymore questions then please ask. Feel free to email me about any topic. Good luck to you. ------------------ -HB-

HIT would be perfect for beginners, so they can build a foundation. Read some books by Stuart McRobert and Mike Mentzer.

LOOK BROS... HIT can be a GREAT program, but as far as YOU are concerned. LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. You need to be able to understand how your body reacts to working out. take pics, write a journal (I don't) or just think about your training logically. Overtraining is bad, so is undertraining. Eat Food, work out efficiently. it's very simple. Q's for newbies, ask me. I am usually pretty bored. I am willing to take a little time to help you out

recomme read them appled some of the tech but they are not the holy grail ???????? use your own brain you dont learn excercise tech.one set per bodypart to failure what is failure to a beginner/what is failure to a veteran not the same by the way hardgainer training is for underweight beginners where do you progress from there dont be a drone!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand Bigbear, you say that beginners should be working on their lifting technique and I couldn't agree with you more. But how long does it take to get technique down? They could always improve their technique, but it shouldn't take anymore than a month. Beginners should actually achieve better gains than veterans. Read the book Beyond Brawn. You can learn a lot. ------------------ -HB-

Those high schoolers would make much better gains if their workouts focused on squats, deadlifts, and bench presses 2-3 times a week. I never said that HIT is the 'holy grail'. PunjabiSher asked what HIT was, so I pointed him toward some books. And it doesn't just mean one set per bodypart, it means doing the basic, compund exercises with high intensity, for few sets.

recomme;most high school football players do the big three or sometype of variation like benchpress-powercleans-squats so your point isnt valid when i started training me and some of the guys i played football with would sneek down to the weightroom during lunch and do clean and presses for an hour everyday and up to maximum single gueess what i didnt overtrain but at bodyweight of 160 i could clean and press 205x1 shouldnt i have gotten weaker i allso trained 3-4times aday i hade a coach who told me the more i trained the bigger and stronger i would get the size didnt come but i was cut to the bone and strong it is all in the mind when i cut back to 5day a week bodybuilding routine presto 30lb weight gain i think most of you worry way to soon about overtraining and dont go for the gusto. something to think about ps my high school only had a 300lb bench club guese what out of 22starters 20benched over 300lbs and you didnt progress by 1or2lb increments you just loaded the weight on there and went for it i think hardgainers retard there own progress by there [im a hardgainer i cant train like that ] they have lost the battle before they even start big bear |
