I want to be a personal trainer. I love teaching as well as training. Is it a good income? If so how much should I expect to make? I'm thinking of taking home courses on the subject for the process of getting certified. Have anyone heard of these type of courses? thanx in advance

I'm a trainer... and the job was handed to me so it was easy to get.
as for the money, let's just say I wouldn't mind having a few more sugar mommies to train to round up the end of the month.

FlexRich, if you live in Florida you'll make good money, my cousin is a Personal Trainer and let's say with his ritzy clientel he is in the six figure bracket. I do some personal training here in Rhode Island part-time and lets say it's no where near to what I can make in Florida, all depends on your clientel and where your at and how good you market yourself. Alway Flexing, FlexRich.

I am a trainer. My certification is with ISSA. Go to www.issaonline.com.... check it out, it is a tough one, but I love it!

I am certified through ISSA. I have not had much luck in making money from personal training. I dont really think the certification is worth the money. At least where I am from, most people get jobs at gyms by who they know, not by being qualified. Getting clients is also a hassle. You will have to advertise, unless you know a lot of possible clients. If you are willing to do this, then maybe it is worth it, however I would get certified through ACE if I were you. Most people look on it as a more credible organization.
