the less you do, the faster you'll be out of your overtrained state.

What is overtraining? Overtraining is exactly what it says. Training more than is needed. When you overtrain, you're whole nervous system is affected. So do you stop cardio and ab training? Yes, you do. Your body only has so much resources that it can use productively. Cardio (aerobic training) and weight training or resistance training (anaerobic training) effects your whole body. The best thing to do is to take a full week or two off from training. Then resume your cardio and abdominals training. Be sure to continue your diet when you're away from the gym.

HIT BB,
like Ive said before, Ive been doing HIT training for a little over a year now, but lately (within the last 2 weeks) my workouts have havent been as intense as they used to be. And, now I feel that Im starting to get sick. Anyways, Im pretty sure that Im overtrained.

My question is how long do you train before taking a break? Its been about 3 months since I took a week off. Im just curous as to what to expect with HIT training...since I dont really know of anyone at my gym that trains this way. Any info would be appriciated

peace

If you've been training for that long without a lay off, then yes. Take a week or two off then come back fresh.
