I NEED SOME ADVICE I"M A 48 YEAR OLD GUY THAT STARTED LIFTING ABOUT A YEAR AGO MY STRENGHT HAS GONE WHY UP BUT I DON'T SEEM TO BE ADDING A LOT OF SIZE I TOOK ALL OF MY MEASURMENTS PRIOR TO LIFTING & I HAVE ONLY GAINED ABOUT A INCH & A HALF IN EACH BODY PART TO GIVE YOU A EXAMPLE OF STRENGHT GAINS I HAD A HARD TIME SQUATING 135# AT FIRST, & INCLINE DB =ABOUT KNOW I CAN SQUAT SETS WITH 315# & DB INCLINE SETS WITH 85# I WEIGHEDABOUT 170 AT START & KNOW WEIGH ABOUT 180 I WHICH WHAT I EAT & MAKE SURE THAT I GET THE CORRECT AMOUNT OF PROTEIN CREATINE & OUTHER SUPPLEMENTS & HAVE EVEN HAD GOOD RESULTS STACKING TRIBULUS& ANDRODIOL I CAN KEEP MY BODY FAT LOW & APPEAR RIPPED BUT WHEN I START TO ADD CALORIES IT SHOWS IN MY AB AREA RIGHT KNOW I TAKE IN ABOUT 3000 CALS A DAY FROM BEEF STEAK , FISH, CHICKEN,&COMPLEX CARBS (PROTEIN = ABOUT 275 TO 300 GRAMS INCLUDED IN MY DIET IS 4 PROTEIN DRINKS A DAY) I TRAIN FOR ABOUT 2 HRS A DAY (MON.=CHEST & BIS, )(TUES. = LEGS) (WED REST )THUR BACK& TRIS)(FRI SHOULDERS TRAPS & SECOND CHEST WORKOUT) ANY HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS I WANT TO COMPETE IN A CONTEST NEXT SUMMER SO I WANT TO GAIN SOME MASS THIS WINTER

maybe its time to change your routine or if you jsut did that recently buy weight gainers ,eat mroe and take more protein you need around 200g of protein a day to grow to ful potential

10lbs in one year is NOT that bad dude,
especially if your 48yr old. Just be patient, your routine looks fine.

I heard that at that age you body is practally finished growing and isn't producing what you need to grow. You will get stronger and definitely improve you health and lengthen you life but at a certain age the only way to grow is to introduce and outside stimulate. ie grow hormones, steroids. (Don't take this for gospel, I just heard it from a guy at the gym)

You want to bulk? You're doing way too many sets, especially for legs. You're 48 years old, you can't train like you're 20 anymore...

1.) Learn to use lower-case letters and punctuation.
2.) Abbreviate your routine to allow for much more recovery time. Focus on the basic, multi-joint exercizes (Squats, Bench, Deadlift).
3.) Get lots of rest.
4.) Only workout two - three days per week.
5.) Watch your nutrition carefully.
6.) Watch your stress levels. Enjoy life and enjoy your time in the gym!

can i just ppoint out that on 3000kcal a day, you wont get big...
If you want to grow, you are going to have to lose some definition.....its that simple.
If you are natural, you have a choice between seeing your abs in the mirror each day, and growing. Id chose growing. Drop some sets, up the food intake by about 250kcal for a week. See what happens. Up it by 250kcal each week until you are gaining a half pound or so each week. Now you are growing. Cheers, G.
