My left bicep is a little shorter in appearance than my right. I was wondering if maybe I should stretch them in the morning everyday as well as after a back or bicep workout?? Watching the Sydney Olympics (the male Gymnasts) it was apparent that these folks have the best biceps in any sport I've ever seen aside from Bodybuilding. Gymnasts stretch all of thier muscles on a daily basis. I urge all who lift to think about this. also I was wondering about overtraining the arms?? Gymnasts must overtrain thier arms as far as building size goes, but shit they all have at least 16-17" arms. and the big boys had like 18-20" arms. shit!!! It may just appear to look that big but I feel that they have to be! Are pullups, stretching, hanging on bars (stretching as well as strengthening the tendons) also the incredible amount of torque they exert on the tendons when the grip onto the bar after a trick. is this the ultimate in bicep training?? Pleeeeeeeeeezzzzzzzz Respond, I want opinions on this!!! [This message has been edited by Valdez (edited September 21, 2000).]

You watched it last night also on NBC huh? I noticed that these guys arms and delts are really thick. Fisrt of all, these guys have great genetics. Hell they're in the Olympics. Possible steroid use? Since they train probably daily, doesnt that shoot out the overtraining theory? Unless their muscle building genetics are so inclined if they did regular BB workouts they'd be huge!

bump. It's more than genetics! there is something going on in the gymnasts training schedule that causes biceps to eplode in size.

bro, those guys don't have 18" arms....they are very defined and rock hard, and have great development, but they do not have anywhere near 18" guns....they have so little bodyfat that it looks that way, most of those guys are tiny.....stretching the biceps has been said to help them grow, so give it a try if you want....most gymnasts develope biceps from the pulling movements they do day in and day out at practice with their bodyweight as a resistance...their delts are developed the same way, but if you notice, they have no legs or chest...it is just due to the way they train for their sport, and the elements that they perform.

Also most of those guys have been doing Gymnastics all their lives 10 to 15 years. how big do u think you could be with their dedication and 15 years of BB training behind you.

There is some evidence to suggest that one of the adaptions to regular strething is an increase in the number of sarcomeres at the end of a series hence longer muscles. There may also be a semipermanent elongation of the surrounding fascia, connective tissues and nervous tissues. Dont expect miracles though. If these changes occur they will be minimal. Stretching regularly is worthwile anyway.
