Damn, I started working out at 110 lbs about a dozen years ago, but I only had a little Sears bench, so I never got comfortable squatting or deadlifting. Today I finally started adding Squats and Deadlifts to my routine, and I'm going to be going back to basics for a long while, methinks. I now weigh about 145lb, but don't look serious.
Leg extensions and Leg presses did not leave me equipped to do a really brief set of squats and DLs with a 45lb. bar!
Damn, it's lame to still be a beginner after more than ten years. But I guess I gotta start paying my dues in the squat rack if I'm gonna be serious. Thanks to everybody for setting me straight!

hit it up bro! maybe prioritize your training to target your lower body for a few months. let your body put all its effort into catching up. it will help you in the long run if you balance out your body. plus squats and deads will improve your upper body believe it or not. good luck. check the ego at the door(i do) and squat safely and effectively.peace

ha ha! I knew I'd be embarassing myself to publicly admit this, but I aim to use it as a motivator.
All I've ever done for legs is Leg Extensions and Leg Curls, and my legs suck.
I'm starting on a Stuart McRobert-style abreviated routine with 20-rep squats as the cornerstone.
So it's an empty Olympic bar for 20 reps and my quads scream. My poundages will go up fast, though.
Back to basics, and doing it right this time. Elite Fitness is a motivator.
