What are some supplements I can take to that are anti-catabolic (towards my muscles). I am gong to start dieting and I want to make sure that my body doesnt break my muscles down for food! Any good supplements I should take? How how much?

Glutamine is a good choice. An ECA stack will also help preserve muscle tissue. Phosphadatylserine may also help. Also, be sure to eat 1.5 grams of protein per lb of body weight when low carb dieting.

Keep eating those amino acids (casein and whey)proteins every 2-3 hours and try glutamine for starts.

I've heard that "Cytodyne," the product, byt the company by that name is really good...and your glutamine, BCAAs, lots of whole proteins--eggs, chicken, tuna, etc.--with a good thermogenic shouldn't eat away too much...

Vitamin C is also another very inexpensive supplement that has proven anti-catabolic properties. In research studies, athletes who take plenty of vitamin C following heavy exertion activities had less muscle soreness the days after the event. Vitamin C has been shown to reduce levels of lactic acid---which also ties into cortisol levels. So the educated assumption is that taking vitamin C will indirectly affect the cortisol levels.

I've taken the 800mg doses of phosphatidylserine for a couple of months and I couldn't see much difference between that and extra doses of vitamin C...except in the absurd amount of money I saved when switching to vitamin C.

i know you all know that vit.C is water soluble vitamin, and is suppossed to be nontoxic because it can be easily excreted when there is excess, unlike the fat soluble vitamins. Anyways i used to take 2g of Vit.C a day until i found out 80% of a cyst is Vit.C believe it or not. kinda spooky, so i cut back to 500mg.
On the subject on hand, i haven't really found anything better than L-glutamine for recovery, but i think food, 2gallons of water, vitamins and minerals, and maybe some glutamine would be best for anticatabolism.
