I see from researching this board that most of you guys are big glutamine fans. I took it once but I dont think I took it correctly. How much glutamine should a 5'8 170lbs. guy take and when?
also
How is HMB? I got like five bottles for free and want to know if its worth taking?
Thanks.

Take 10-15 grams a day, buy the powder its more economical, HMB is a supplement that works for some and for others it doesnt do anything, if you have free bottles just try it anyway.

Havoc is right. 10-15-even 20 or more grams produce great results. HMB-if you use 6-7 grams a day and you are watching your diet you will see some decent fat loss. HMB use can lead (some studies are SUGGESTING this, and anecdotal claims give it some creedence)to fat loss. Give it a shot, what the hell ITS FREE!

Glutamine is not gender specific. it will help prevent catabolism in everybody.

okay - but I was wondering if the size of a person made a difference.

An avg. sized person can use 5-10grams/day of glutamine. Some use more. A heaping teaspoon is about 5 g. Take 5g right after your workout and another 5g just before bed. I mix mine in with my protein shakes.
