i desperately need to get tanned in the next few days, and i was wondering what products are best. i have been sunbed tanning for the past 2 weeks, and while my body has gotten tanned, my face has lagged behind.

i have heard of products based on things like alpha hydroxy acids or something called DHA that are supposed to react with the amino acids in the skin to form a completely natural tan, they aren't stains or dyes. and it fades just the same as a real tan. does anyone have experience with these products such as Fake Bake or Au Courant?

if so please let me know, i need a way that will work without making me look ridiculous because i'm running out of time here.

Hey!
I used to work in a tanning salon, and have some advice. Since your face is lagging behind, which is quite normal, use a product that targets hard to tan areas, like Swedish Beauty facial oil, or else try a tanning lotion that is an accelerator with an added bronzer in it to give you a boost.

If you want to go totally fake because of time or whatever, I know that the products today are pretty good, and don't leave you looking orangey or fake. Just go to the cosmetics counter, my sister swears by the self-tanners. Hope this helps.

I would have to say that the reason you are not getting the results is it is either the bulbs in the bed or the lotion that you are using. How long do you tan in the beds? Also what lotion are you using? I dont know if where you tan has tingle factor lotions, but those will get you the darkest. Swedish Beauty has the best tingle factor lotions in my opinion. Check it out!

thanks for the advice ladies. i go 3x a week for 20 mins each time because thats all i can with the current plan i'm under at my local tanning place. i just started using an accelerator last time i went, but it was a cheap one like $15. the tingle factor ones are really expensive! i might try that though. you guys know any places on the net that has it cheaper than a salon would?

I have no idea if there is anywhere on the net that you can get a cheap tingle factor lotion. Yes they are expensive but the lotion is well worth it, you will notice a dramatic difference, plus you wont have to tan as often. You get what you pay for!

thanks for all the help so far, got some more questions.

do products such as Fake Bake that you rub on work? they say that it gives you a tan just like laying in the sun, no stains or dyes. or would a combonation of different tanning methods be the best, like a product like this with a tanning lotion with bronzer? also my legs are naturally pretty hairy, would i need to shave them for the area to tan correctly?

d1734, I am using the Swedish Beauty Black Diamond stuff that just came out recently and I am so dark in just 4 days, at 20 mins a day!
Ask where you tan at if they will sell youa sample first before you buy the whole bottle. Most salons will do that for you.

What happened, did you get flamed? Oh well, what comes around goes around!!

Anybody have any fake tan product recommendations for someone who does not tan at all. I'm VERY fair skinned with little or no pigment to my skin. It would be nice if I could get some color even if it is fake, but not too fake looking! I tried Nutrogena and it turned me a sickly orange color. Any suggestions appreciated.
