I would say the maintenance phase is bullshit and that you should try only loading for one week. Then go off of creatine for 2-3 weeks and repeat. I have seen some results doing this and really didn't see anything with a prolonged maintenance phase.

the most recent research i saw indicated loading was not necessary. it will just take a little longer for your muscle tissue to become "saturated".

If you load up, you can see results a lot faster. Within a week you will get as big as if you were only to take 1 serving of creatine a day for a month.
