Vary your sources. Lean meats, protein shakes and other quality foods. Try to get several small meals, 5 to 6 times a day, which have protein in them.

Meso-Tech by Muscle Tech is by far the best supplementry protien you can possibly devour.
Iso-pure is good also.

Always eat as much real food as possible before drinking supps like weight gainer and protein powders. I usually drink them for desert or after eating. I only use them for meal replacements every so often, and when I do too much, I get diherea for days on end until I get my roughage back to par. Vegetables became my new best friend, eat lots of them.

Protein blends are probably the best for bulking up. I recommend Muscle Link's Pro Fusion or Muscle Meals. It also has 10 grams of glutamine peptide. You can get a free sample at www.ironmanmagazine.com

I've heard that Met-rx's Protein Plus protein powder is supposed to be pretty good. It has 46 grams of protein, 3 grams of carb and 1 gram of fat. It also has 9 grams of glutamine per serving. You can get pretty good deals at www.netrition.com

Happy training.

As far a gaining mass, I do not really think quality of protein is all that important like it would be for leaning up. BUT, and I do mean BUT, I think the meal that still needs to be looked at closely/importantly is your post workout meal because this is when insulin levels have a higher sensitivity level and are able to withstand higher levels of both protein and carbs, preferably, high glycemic and fast digesting. This is where I think Whey protein is important on a mass diet because you can take advantage of your body's hormonal conditions. The fast absorption of whey is very beneficial and important in this regard; Therefore, after rambling on, Whey would be my answer. The other meals could be slower digesting proteins like casein, soy, meats, etc (whichever one's you like).

I would never recommend anything from MuscleTech, unless your rich. I like the bars. Take a look at there Cell Tech, its all carbs, and tons of sugar. It dont last long at all. There nitro tech is junk too, just wasting your money. Get a good protein.

I recommend Optimim Nutrition's Chocolate whey protein. There are numerous sites where you can get a 5lb. tub for about 25 bucks. Despite what some may say, it is a good quality protein. Easily digested, low lactose levels.

Cell Tech all carbs....grab a clue dumbass...carbs are needed to spike insulin enough drive the creatine into the muscle cell. 75g of dextrose is what doctors use to test your insulin response. People who rag on Muscletech post the funniest shit, because they really don't have a clue as to what they're talking about. They have a half assed grasp of supplements and just post what they hear from other idiots....

Oh to answer the question....best protein supplement for bulking would be an MRP with whey (and not cheap milk protein) and alot of glutamine.

When your body breaks down a high quality protein source it really doesn't matter if it came from food or a protein powder, as long as it is HIGH quality and easily digestable and you are taking in the proper amount. I don't have time to prepare food but I do have the money to buy tons of cans of designer protein and more packets of Myoplex and Metrx than I ever want to admit to drinking. I have lived exclusively on protein powder for months at a time and made tremendous gains both natural and on a cycle. 2 years ago I took 100 dbols over the course of 5 weeks. I drank 5 packets a day and had 5 scoops of designer protein a day. It equated to about 325 grams of protein a day from powder and probably 50grams from solid food. I made amazing gains - went up 30lbs of bodyweight in 5 weeks and I kept 12 of it. My friends were amazed and I barely ate any real food at all. The moral of this long winded story is just jam your body with high quality protein and lots of it no matter what the source -once your body breaks it down all it knows is to turn it into muscle.

12 pounds in 5 weeks is possible when you have never done steroids before and you have 15 years experience training, and good genetics. I did it so I know it's possible. I was 5'10 210 pounds lean. In 5 weeks I went up to 240. When the water drained out my weight stabilized at around 224. My bodyfat and waistline were exactly the same. 350 grams is a ton of protein, I normally take in only 250 a day but I wanted to take in massive amounts on the Dianabol. My body was able to synthesize alot of that protein into lean muscle tissue. Noone really knows how much to take in, everyone has there own theories 1-1.5 grams per pound of lean bodyweight. I have always done well with 1.25 grams per pound of lean weight. I'm not recommending what I have done to anyone else, but I know what works for me. That five weeks was equal to about 2 years of solid natural training. It was well worth it. It's been 2 years since I did it and I am now a lean 230 - about 8 pounds in 2 years. I'm thinking about doing it again but I probably won't get as good results as the first time.

I believe that it is possible to gain 15 pounds in a 6 week period. When I started HIT, I gained about 15 pounds in a month and a half. I also got a little stronger every workout. I believe it is impossible to make consistant gains of 15 pounds a month. It could happen a cycle or two, then maybe 2 pounds a month. This is just what I have experienced. Everything is also based on genetics.
