I've been reviewing my diet, and although my caloric and carbohydrate intake is very high, my protein intake is limited because of the variety of food I eat. On average I probably manage to only get in 60g of protein on a 120lb body. But I do get plenty of amino acids through the weight gainer, milk, and vitamins and vegetables. Is protien intake that vital that I need to be taking a protein supplement. I'm already getting bogged with lots of supplements. I'm taking creatine, weight gainer, tribulus, and eating a lot. I don't want to have to spend the extra amount on a protein supp if I can help it, but if protein will help me a long that much more, then I will get some. Are there any cheap and efficient ways to get protein? What are major sources of protein that can help me get the 150g+ that I need to be having.

Yes. Chicken and tuna are great sources of lean protein. But bro, protein should always be your first supplement priority. Fuck weight gainer. That shit only lasts 10 days anyway. Stick with the protein and creatine and you'll do fine.

can of tuna has 25g of protein and costs about $0.80 pretty cheap. economy size bag at you local costco or priceclub of frozen sole,it has 15g of protein per 50g of fish and get this, they have no fat or carbs; cook this shit in safflower or flax its fucking good. try to combine cheap proteins together like i do. such as a sandwich with chicken breast, sole, tuna, cheese, with some ruffage.its damn good! under 500 cals and over 70g of pro.

Since your are not restricting your caloric intake and taking a weight gainer and looking for a cheap protein source, take a look at nature peanut butter as well. It is almost the same price as some national brands but does not contain any trans fats.

My protein sources are:

Chicken breast (grilled)
Tuna right out of the can
Occasional quarter pounder from McDs
Protein supplement bars while riding train home from work
Protein powder shake (designer protein)
Skim Milk

I try to eat 4 meals a day and throw in 1 supplement bar or shake on top of all that.

Since I have a long train commute and frequently travel around the country, I find that supplement bars fill the long gaps between meals (even though the cost can be high).

Don't forget there are cartons of egg whites in the milk section. I can down a 16oz. carton of egg whites=50gms. protein. That has been for me the most convenient source of quality protein.
