![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've always been told that your body can only take 40-50 grams of protein at a time & that anything more would turn to fat.I've actually read that you should'nt take in no more than 25-30 at each serving. But for bodybuilding some say you need 2 grams per pound of body weight. So for me that would be 420grams a day.I find that very hard to do if I can only take in 50 at each serving.Anyone with experience onthis topic please help. How much can I take in at each serving? [This message has been edited by scott825 (edited May 17, 2000).] IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It will depend if your intestinal tract can handle it without going into major distress. I personally believe that 2 grams per lb is the upper side of the scale. Personally I have had good results at 1.25-1.5 grams per lb. Also don't stick with one kind of protien - i.e. whey. Mix it up with casien and egg and maybe even some soy. I believe your body handles the "mix" better and it also provides for a good amino profile. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() you know what guys....I had a nutrition class...actually two and both remarked that elite or bodybuilding atheletes only need at most 1mg per 1Kg...I argued with them..but it says it in the text books we used...but I am sure if you are on juice you need to increase that two fold IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() well, what u learn in nutrition classes arent right. they dont think about the fact that the point is to BUILD muscle, not just keep at the level you are. if that was the case your textbook would probably be right. but we wanna GAIN muscles.. ![]() ------------------ http://home.sol.no/~mrmuscle/ IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() Ever seen what some of the teachers that tech these classes look like? The person who taught my General Nutrtion class was a fat old woman and the guy that taught my Sports Nutrition class weighed about 120 lbs. dripping wet with lead boots on. IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I recommend 1.5-2 grams of quality whey protein per pound of body weight per day. Try and get a lot of whole food sources of protein, and then drink between 2 and 4 shakes per day as meal replacements.(2,3, or 4 shakes depending on body weight) Each shake containg no less than 30 grams of protein.Try and eat 4-6 times a day. Good Luck Haps IP: Logged |
