I have been hearing so much different information regarding what kind of protein to take, when to take it. Now can some please give me a solid answer as to what type of protein to take for muscle development, how many grams per day is sufficient, should I take a shake before a workout or after, and also someone told me that your body can only handle 25 grams of protein per meal - is that a fact? Also should glutamine be mixed in your protein shakes? Thanks for you help. Richie IP: Logged |

Sheesh! Do some research!!!!! Okay I'll help. The best type of protein is Whey Protein Isolate To grow muscle you need at least 1g per lb of lean body mass per day. There is no set amount that you body can handle at a time. It all depends on the needs of your body at that specific time, and no one can be sure what that is so don't worry about it. Just eat. New studies have shown that glutamine peptides are absorbed better than l-glutamine when mixed into a protein shake. IP: Logged |

Whey isolates or micro filtered whey is good. You want to get at least 1gram per lb of bodyweight, preferably 1.5-2 grams. I think 30-50 grams per meal is a good range, definately up it postworkout and first thing in the morning. IP: Logged |
