In the UK bodybuilding supplements are 2-3 times more expensive than the states e.g 1kg of creatine is often 30-40 (=$45-55). I therefore can't afford to spend as much as I would like on protein shakes. I do take a whey shake 2-3 times per day but when I run out I often drink egg whites beat in skimmed milk. My question is: Are the protein drinks so much better than albumin and skimmed milk? Sure, you get the AA's in shakes - but you can get these in pill form. I've got no intention of giving up the shakes (they taste better than eggs and milk for a start!) I was just wondering what peoples opinions are? IP: Logged |

Eggs and milk made alot of guys bigger in the "old days". I drink ALOT of 1-2%. 1/2 a gallon is worth 64 grams of protien (casenite and whey) and I have no problems digesting it. IP: Logged |

You know, there's tons of good stuff in egg YOLKS, so if you're not afraid of the fat, you should really consider eating the whole damned egg. Personally, I think there's something we haven't identified yet in egg yolks, just like there must be in red meat, that's anabolic. Are eggs, skim milk powder, cottage cheese, and canned tuna expensive in the UK? My mom lived outside London when she was a teenager, and she said her family lived on eggs, but maybe that's because she was Maltese and they're really into eggs anyway. IP: Logged |

Eggs are milk are pretty cheap (eggs = $1.50 for 15, milk = $3 per gallon) that's why I eat and drink loads of them to supplement my shakes. I try to limit the egg yolks though because of the fat. IP: Logged |
