i am 19 years old and i have been lifting for a number of years and i was wondering if tribulus is any good? am i too young to see any gains from this sort of supplement? Currently i supplement with whey, multi-vitamin, and glutamine. Also the occassional ECA if i need some energy before a workout. Also have anybody out there about my age had any success with prohormones?

I wouldn't recommend prohormones untill at least your mid-20's. I'd stick with the whey and multi-vitamin. I'd suggest dropping the glutamine and replacing it with creaine.

Why would you drop the glutamine? Adding creatine I would suggest, but hold on to the glutamine. Prohormones wouldn't produce anything compared to what a 19 year old normal male can innately produce.

I would suggest dropping the glutamine simply because it's very expensive at not very effective at all. It's a supplement that "looks good on paper" but doesn't work in the real world. As long as your supplementing with some sort of protein drink or MRP you should be getting more than enough glutamine. Don't let the muscle magazines trick you. I noticed all the muscle magazines are trying to push glutamine supplements now! What they don't tell you is you want Glutamine PEPTIDES! Not L-glutamine.

Holz61, don't even bother with a prohormone. Your body at this age is capable of producing some amazing amounts of real hormones. Why pay for hamburger when your getting steak for free? I would do what the others already suggested and stick with the multi and protein powders, along with a sensible diet. Creatine wouldn't be a bad idea, it's cheap and can help a little. |
