I was looking at protein supplements and many of them were boasting low carbs. I thought most bodybuilders ate a diet high in carbs? Also, is there a good tasting protein supplement? I tried Sportpharma's whey protein and it was nasty.

high carb, high protein, moderate fat (as much EFA's as possible. bioplex nutrition and optimum nutrition both have 5lbs for $33 Designer protein is the best tasting IMO.

Low carb drinks are only good for dieting, and late night meals. Personally, when dieting, I like to use a powder that has a little carbs so I can mix it with water(not milk) and it won't taste that awfull. I like Eas' simply whey.

The low carb thing is just another "fad diet" that the supplement companies are trying to make money off of. Such as the Adkins diet, etc. One thing the supplement companies don't tell you is no carbs=no energy! You will lose weight on a low carb diet unfortunately 80% will be muscle!

Carbs are essential to the bodybuilder. Aid in protein synthesis, lowering cortisol levels, providing energy, etc. Low carb diets result in fat & muscle loss, with the muscle loss being the more permanent part of the equation. Never follow mainstream ideas on dieting.

Good tasting protein drinks: Scitec Nutrition Isolean, MHP, AST VP2, and Biotest Grow!. Most taste pretty crappy depending on what you add.
