-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I am freaking pissed as hell about this creatine serum garbage I just bought and am gonna march into GNC tomorrow and demand an exchange for $40 worth of creatine powder..the question is which ones are actually creatine? Apparently they can say their selling creatine on the label and actually be selling you ground up monkey balls and get away with this...I don't want to be suckered again...Any help would be appreciated (ie brand names etc) Thanks in advance **posted this on the supplement board as well in hopes of more responses** | ||

If you want an awsome creatine, try CRE-X-8 and mix it with protein. With that alone I gained 10 lbs of muscle in a month. | ||

Muscle or water?? Ive often wondered if this "weight gain" linked to creatine is water or muscle. ------------------ | ||

i take offense to that. i am a part timer at GNC while i go to college. everything i say is the truth. i could care less about commission. i just like helpin people out and the nice discount on stuff. some of us Gnc employees aren't assholes. an apology would be nice. | ||

I also thought that the creatine serum was garbage and a waste of 40 bucks. I have yet to find anything, creatine or andro, that have actually worked for me from GNC. | ||

For the money I like either Met-Rx or Prolab's creatine, but you'll save money by buying supplements on line. LM | ||

Muscle or Water ??? Good Question Studies have suggested that creatine increases protein synthesis by increasing intracellular fluid volumes and activating specific receptors on the actin and myosin myofilaments. This is what many researchers believe is a primary mechanism for the dramatic increase in lean muscle tissue attributed to Creatine. Obviously, increased protein synthesis results in the need for increased protein in the diet to fuel this accelerated muscle synthesis If you dont mind mail order here is where I order my Creatine from: I dont take very many of their products but I do know this what they put on the label is realy what is in the container. I have actual lab results for some of their products. | ||

Are you sure about the LBM increase?? I know it helps flush things towards musclue tissue, but most of the things that I have read attribute most of the initial gains in strength and size to water retention. ------------------ | ||

Speaking of apologies I'd like to apologize for shaming my mother by being a gullable twit to buy that crap from GNC to start with before bouncing the idea off the more expert in these matters namely the guys on this board. As for apologizing in the direction of GNC?...hmmm...I don't think so. At least I can say that according to the their receipt they seem to be understanding about taking crap back (and I stress the word crap). That policy is getting tested ASAP. If I can get some legit products in exchange for that creatine serum then I'll have a warmer opinion of them. | ||

In defense of GNC yes they are exspensive but they have experation dates on all products ( find someone else who does) refund monney on stuff that does not work for you ( again who else lets ya return an empty bottle) and everything in there corporate stores is tested for label accuracy. In your case you bought liquid creatine which is useless as the creatine can't work in a liquid extended product for a period of time. So whos fault is it that you bought a useless product? I say your own and not GNC'S as you should have known what you where buying. Do I shop there? No but I only buy Isopure in 8# buckets and they don't carry it. Though I buy htere multi from time to time. Don't buy advertising by results and GNC does have good creatine in Labrada, Pro labs, Metrx and even EAS which to me taste the best even though I hate everything about Phillips. Just my two cents. Hey Mako- not everybody responds to creatine! It just doesn't work for some people. It ain't GNC- it's you! What? Joe Wieder and Bill Phillips forgot to tell you that?? An honest oversight I'm sure. | ||

I think the name creatine monoHYDRATE says it all. Just water.Strength comes from the water in the muscles and the extra weight. | ||

Yeah buying that shit WAS MY FAULT its the first and LAST purchase getting made without THOROUGH RESEARCH...I went in today and replaced the stuff with some stuff recommended by this board. So I was only out about $10. Thanks to all the guys who answered the question and offered inteligent advice. To the flamers...eat a dick up. | ||

yes creatine does increase strength by hydrating the muscel cells... it does this by making them retain water... the weight gain is caused by water retention | ||

quote: What's so wrong with trying to use creatine for muscle gains? If I'm not mistaken, creatine is about the only non-AS supplement that actually has a direct correlation to muscle gains. If you don't believe it, try reading some of the fifty clinical studies that have been done on it. Andro on the other hand is a completely different story-steroid side effects without steroid gains....don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to flame ya, just trying to figure out why you would question the use of creatine. | ||

Creatine does put on water weight. However I still like to use creatine. I think the best out is phosphagen HP. And don't buy stuff at GNC it's WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, try nathigh.com I paid $26 for a bottle of phosphagen hp and at gnc they wanted $45. Plus at nathigh if you buy $100 worth of stuff they offer free shipping. Can't beat it. | ||
