no it will not show up in an NCAA drug test. all you can expect is a little bit better sleep (which is a blessing from god if you ask me)

Thanks for the info. I will rest easier just knowing I will not get busted. But you say it doesn't do much else besides make you sleep better?

It will probably raise your testosterone a little bit and help your muscles recover faster... I've definately noticed the faster recovery that comes along with sleeping better. As for the raise in testosterone its because of the zinc and magnesium which most people are defecint in, even athletes. It won't raise test in everyone, but it will in the majority of people.

It only increases test levels if you are deficient. Many multivitamins, and protein drinks, (mrps) have zinc, magnesium and B6 in them. So you may already be getting enough even though you are training. But it can't hurt. Just don't pay too much for it. The should help you to sleep though. Don't take them with calcium. You can also buy the supplements seperately. By the way, it's amazing what advertising will do for newbies eager to learn. They all ask the same questions. Please don't fall prey to ordering everything you see in a magazine because it has endorsements. They all appear believable, and because the paid bodybuilders are endorsing them, we, as newcomers believe there's some truth in it. NOT OFTEN TRUE! You will find out. Keep asking questions, before buying.

I think ZMA is a good supplement only because the majority of men are deficent in zinc and magnesium. Also, since we aren't your average joe, we might need twice as much as is found in a regular multivitamin. Incidently, the few multivitamins I have checked out dont have 100% of zinc OR magnesium, and bodybuilders probably need like 200% of the recommended daily amount. Finally, the zinc and magnesium found in ZMAs are supposed to be Zinc and Magenesium Asparate. I don't know what asparate means but its supposed to be absorbed and used by the body easier than the regular stuff. Peace.

...part of the pitch for ZMA is the formulation.Buying them seperately and taking together works just as well for me-and it's alot cheaper.ZMA might work better for you- try both ways. And unless the NCAA has recently banned vitamins and minerals you'll be OK.
