I am a 30 year old male,in the last year or so I've gotten into weightlifting, but not seriously, until now. Ineed some input from experienced lifters. When i started exercising a year ago i was at 239, i've since dropped 33lbs. at 206. i'm ready to commit to weightlifting, i got a 300lb. olympic plate set for x-mas so i've been using that. I'm trying to banish this spare tire i have around my middle any suggestions? I eat 5-6 times a day including 3 protein drinks. I want to start taking Hydroxycut, and maybe Cell-Tech creatine, i lift 4 days a week do cardio 3 daysa week. would the Hydroxycut, and creatine be o.k. to start taking with my workouts? any input would be greatly apprecated!! Users of either of these let me know how you like them.-Redskinfan

welcome. My advice for you is to do a search on ECA's and Creatine. ECA's can cancel out the effects of creatine. There is tons of information archived on this site. good luck. P.S. I'm a skins fan myself, although I don't say that too loudly these days.

Actually, ephedrine increases creatine uptake, but caffene decreases its uptake. Take them at separate times.

Try some Dymetedrine Xtreme, its cheaper than Hydroxycut and it works better, in my opinion...Cardio 2-3 times a week(40-60min), first thing in the morning on an empty stomach will help drop those last few pounds!

Personally, I wouldn't use creatine and ECA the same time. Probably, just ECA. I liked Dymetadrine Extreme as far as strength and cost effectiveness, although any ECA will work. Creatine and ECA will dehydrate you, and their effects can offset each other. If you're looking to lose that excess fat, the last few pounds can be the hardest to lose. Make sure you're taking enough protein, so you don't lose much muscle. I was in a similar situation myself before. I had lost quite a bit of weight without ECA. Then, I decided I just wanted help losing a little more fat. The ECA did work for me. I made the mistake, (in my opinion) of using creatine and ECA. All I did was piss all day and night long. I was trying to avoid dehydration. Now, what I do is stay within my cycle. When cutting, I use ECA. When, bulking I may or may not use Creatine. I always consume large amounts of protein, whether I'm cutting or bulking. Also, when cutting I increase cardio to 4 or 5 times per week for 45 - 60 minutes. Intense interval training. Usually, spinning class because it forces me to work as hard as I can. In a good strong class, there will always be competetiveness to be the best. Also, I am spinning instructor which forces me to be the best. When I am bulking I try to stay to twice per week on cardio with the same intensity. This keeps body fat down, but allows me to make the strength and size gains I need. Hope this helps.

Don't waste your money on Celltech, just buy a good brand of regular creatine monohydrate and add some grape juice or carb powder which contains dextrose. For thermogenics, I'd recommend using real caffeine tabs (vivarin or no doz) along with real ephedrine tabs. Try to stay away from the herbal equivalents found in most supplements. Sometimes they work great, sometimes they work lousy, you can't get consitency with them like you can with a USP grade caffeine and ephedrine. It's like comparing white willow bark to aspirin. A popular protocol is 20 mg of ephedrine to 200mg caffeine for best results. You might want to start lower to assess your tolerance. I would use it in the morning upon waking with at least 16 ounces of water, and hit the cardio. Caffeine is a mild diuretic so make sure you drink plenty of water, this is very important. If you feel you can handle it, take another dose 4-6 hours later. I personally never use thermogenics more than 4 weeks straight. Take at least that much time off in between cycles. Can't remember where I heard this, but a very well know bodybuilding authority once said never use thermogenics for more than a total of 3 months out of every year if you always want to get the maximum effect. I never read the research on this so no flames please. I'm sure there is something that I might of missed, but do some research in the archives to find out the finer details and don't fall into the extreme supplement hype. Remember as far as supplements go, the drugs always work better i.e. ephedrine vs. ephedra. |
