http://www.lef.org/fda/fdaban95.html
The press release of Prozac happened 4 days after the illegalization of L-tryptophan for human consumption.

also GHB is schedule I (meaning having NO theraputic or health value whatsoever) and I will add that Red meat contains small amounts of GHB (1.6mg per lb) and by U.S. law that means that red meat is also schedule I, I guess Mcdonald's is one of the largest drug dealers in the entire world... hmmm. www.ceri.com/ghb-a67.htm

check this website out: www.ceri.com
In case you didn't notice I'm pretty pissed off about this shit. What I'm mad about is the deception for $$$$$ not the "protection" of american citizens (GHB is dangerous, yet should NOT be Sched. I) It is shamefull how the Pharmacuetacal companies poison our children with SSRI's (like prozac), ADD drugs (like ritalin) etc when other healthier and MORE EFFECTIVE means exist.
I don't know about all of you but I'm tired of getting reemed in the ass with no lube, by big brother.

This right here is why I am hesitant to spend my hard earned money on the latest and greatest supplement on the market. And why I am very "reserved" in my usage and opinion of "ergogenic aides" I don't trust much when it comes to drugs. I am tired of the propaganda.

I hope this in some way aggravates you, or pisses you off because it is your rights that are being thrown out the window.

enough lies.

so you all don't think I am crazy here is another article:

Just days after the FDA banned tryptophan, the cover of Newsweek announced the arrival of Prozac, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor which became the blockbuster drug of the 90s. Unlike tryptophan, which raised serotonin levels by making more serotonin, Prozac raised serotonin levels by inhibiting the reuptake (recycling) of serotonin. Fortunately for Eli Lilly & Co, tryptophans unavailability had created a serotonin vacuum that Prozac could fill. And fill it it did. Prozacs popularity and profitability were wildly spectacular.

Although Prozac was successful at raising serotonin levels and relieving many of the symptoms of serotonin deficiency, it had a dark side. Reports of suicides, bizarre personality changes and anti-sexual side effects began to emerge. So did reports of Prozac resistance, whereby regular dosage increases were required to maintain effect.

Some of these problems were caused by the unnatural way that Prozac modulated serotonin levels. By interfering with the reuptake, reuse and/or recycling) of serotonin, Prozac actually caused decreases in the cellular stores of serotonin that are needed to maintain increased serotonin levels at the target neurons. In simpler words, Prozac 1)undermined its own action, and thereby 2) created a greater clinical need for its use. This is exactly opposite to the way tryptophan increases serotonin by increasing serotonin stores.

During the following years, other serotonin reuptake inhibitors entered the market. Many did quite well economically. Whether these drugs would have done well faced with open competition from tryptophan will never be known. However, it does seem an improbable and fortuitous coincidence that the FDA eliminated Prozacs only competition at exactly the right time to facilitate Prozacs market success.

Bump... c'mon guys you gotta have some input on this.

maybe I've been watching "conspiracy theory" with Mel Gibson a little too much be seriously it's a little coincidental don't you think.

the government is a business: they are in the business to make money just like everyone else, yet they have to be very, very suave about it. Kind of interesting...

Valdez,

I'm I complete agreement, the gov is a business, as are most (if not all) "public institutions"....I just graduated from the University of California (UC) system, and that is one thriving business for those damn regents, they make money off of students in any way possible, from overcharging for textbooks to gaining interest off of "campus card" accounts, they got it figured out.
I am also interested in some tryptophan sites, if you could email them over that'd be cool...
lates,

www.chemextra.com (a search database of suppliers around the world) be responsible, and do not order illegals from foreign suppliers.
