Has anyone tried HMB. I bought the EAS brand of HMB. It was $90 for a bottle of 360 capsules. I have to take 4 capsules, 3x a day. I was wondering if anyone has used any type of HMB and what they experienced from it.

I don't think it's such a good supplement. A few of my friends have tried it and didi'nt all that much in terms of strength and mass ------------------

HMB is the best supplement ever!If you couldn't tell I was being sarcastic.I can't believe they actually still sell that stuff. If I were you I'd return that shit now and get your refund.Damn, ninety dollars, you should have bought yourself some protein powder or something.

Many recent studies have shown that it doesn't help at all.

quote: oh my god!! aaaaarrrrgh, I am so tired of people saying that they "gained 10lbs on thier bench or 20lbs on there squat" especially in relation to a supplement, "I only... HMB sucks." or "I gained... andro rules!" gimme a break, I feel like I'm looking at a muscle-tech ad every time I hear something like that. a picture of Matt Duvall holding a container of Nitro-tech with a big old shit-eating grin. I'd probably puke if I ever looked through another Muscle Rag. I swear it's nothing personal agaist you Stallion, just I grow very weary of statements like that p.s. nothing personal. ------------------ quote:

This Months Issue of Muscle and Fitness examines HMB from various studies. Basically it looks good.

Yeah, so did dibencozide, boron, OKG and smilax back in the day... Bullsh*t hype is just that and Bill Phillips did lie, HMB does not "feel like deca". Plain leucine is just as effective in my opinion and the needed dosages to see a result (still marginal) much, much lower. HMB is not worth the money. Not at all. Invest in a good whey powder, some flax oil and a solid multiple vitamin and you'll get much more than from HMB. Heck, for $90 you could add tons of other great stuff to the list and still get some change back...

i would not waste your money on any supplement out there except the necessities: protien powder, meal replacments, vitamins, glutamine, etc. the only supplement i would recommend is the zebutol. try to buy it from a store and not over the internet.

I've heard this stuff is no good too, but after I finished this stuff I was looking the biggest I've ever looked. It may have just been a coincidence or just psychological but as a result I'm willing to give it another try again.

lay off, it feels like Deca! well, kinda like it. well, looking at a vial of it. well, thinking about looking at a vial of it... (actually, all it does is cause a medium to severe weight loss from the hip pocket area. very effective for wallet spot-reduction) ------------------

bro i agree with you 100% fuck these morons who say It feels like Deca, or how they can consider any of their products even close to deca or d-bol or any other stuff. I've used my fair share of their products, it never felt like deca or d-bol.

I feel the opposite HMB works well, but it is a slow working supp, instead of 3 steps forward and 2 steps back its 2 forward 1 back. There are also several university studies backing it

Any gains from taking HMB are marginal. The last study I read had two groups of people work out for 3 months. After 3 months the HMB group had gained more lean mass, but it was something like only a 5% increase.

The university studies showing HMB to be highly effective were funded by the supplement companies. I used to be a lab rat for a research professor at a medium to large sized upper eschelon school. Even with the school based funding for research, he still had to go out into the marketplace to get funding. There's no secret to this. Here's something you and I can do to 'prove' or disprove the effectiveness of a supplement: HMB may have passed the university study showing it to be effective for a large majority of the focus group, but there are too many real world people who have gambled and lost using this supplement. If you know that it works for you, then I commend you and I am somewhat jealous. If you've never tried it, I'd have to say save your money until more "University studies" have backed the original one.
