yes micronized whoops ass over regular. the granules are about 1/20 the size of reg. creatine. it absorbs better, tastes better, works better. two thumbs up.

micronized is far better. same goes with glutamine and others.

Micronized creatine also dissolves better, and doesn't stick to your glass like some creatines can. I usually put it in a water bottle and take it to the gym just before the end of the workout. I have had difficult getting all of the creatine out of the bottle when it's not micronized.

what dose any one think about the serum

From what I've read and been told the serum is pretty much useless...I read a pretty good article awhile back but don't remember all the details...

The article about the serum basically stated that 75% of the creatine had converted to creatinine so in essence you were paying for a waste product that is completely worthless. There is nothing wrong with powdered creatine, especially micronized. so that's probably the best bet. I've heard some babble about "evervescent" creatine, who knows it may be good stuff. I'm sticking with cheaper "micronized" myself from brands like AST etc. it's cheap and efficient. Maybe this helps. ------------------

While it is true that micronized creatine does dissolve better in a liquid, as of yet there is no evidence that it is absorbed into your body any faster. Don't forget that as soon as 10 minutes after the creatine is introduced into a liquid, it will begin the process of turning into creatinine, which effectively makes it useless for your purposes. So don't pre-mix your drink for after your workout. You can put the creatine and dextrose into your bottle, and add water when your workout is done.

What about effervescent creatine?

Effervescent Creatine has already received tons of criticism, mine is that it is almost undrinkable (like alka-seltzer). Micronized is probably good, but I have had the best luck with "enhanced delivery" Creatine (Phosphagen HP & Cell Tech). Whisper gave good advice about premixing, also 1st thing in AM and immediately after workout is when your body is most receptive to creatine. Results are enhanced with increased H20 while on.

effervesent or micornized is faster absorbed and the uptake is higher. monohydrate has to be losaded up on and the uptake of it is much lower: most of the monohydrate tastes like shit too.

Guys, I have news for you. The size or mass of the granules has no effect on solubility whatsoever. Micronized creatine does not dissolve any faster, it just takes more time to get to the bottom of the glass. How do I know this? I am a chemistry major.

Big Andy is correct. Micronized does NOT absorb better. It's only benefit is mixability, mouthfeel, and not as much settling in your glass. I use the micronized only for the above mentioned benefits, and the price is the same as regular. Most of you here will think I'm crazy for mentioning this but creatine is best mixed with a warm beverage, be it water added to your creatine/carb mix, grape juice or any other liquid. This will help dissolve it even further, which may help it absorb quicker. The most important thing to remember when taking creatine is to use a minimum 12oz of water, to help give a more favorable ph level in the gut. The more water the better. There has been NO research showing serum, effervescent, etc. is better than regular creatine. If anything, they aren't nearly as good. Stick with what's tried and true. |
