I have always done powerlifting squats, but now I bodybuild. Am I missing something because of it?

Not sure--I've mixed footings and positions just to get any growth. 2 weeks ago I just started "jump squats" that Charles P. talked about. I only used 80 lbs. and my legs are killing. Looked like an ass at the gym but my legs feel so damn tight. Haven't noticed size yet but I alternate with regular squats and I'm still making good progress.

i think variety is the key
try alternating between the two

It has been said that power squats are good for exactly that, they generate more power because you use more of your leg muscles in general when performing your squat and its really a mechanical advantage to squatting more wieght. Bodybuilding (or Olympic squats) are better for building up your quads.
