Hello everyone, great board you have here! I want to gain weight(muscle). Can someone give me the basics on calories, percentage of protein, carbs, fat, etc... I've been lifting for awhile and eat healthy food but not the right amount or combination to gain muscle mass. I'm 6' 210lbs, modest muscular build. I'm going to start training more intensely and I want to make sure I'm eating properly. Any advice would be appreciated...

ok 210lbs... I know some people have around 6,000 calories to gain mass.. but I think you would need around 5,250.. best ratio would probably be around

carbs/protein/fat
..50/.....30/.20

You anywhere from 210-462 Grams of protein (1 lb-2.2lbs per bodyweight) I currently have 2.2 grams per bodyweight. Just eat right, train hard, and you should be huge in no time! Oh yeah, and be sure to have the right genetics.. Those control how big your gonna get naturally. If you dont have good genetics, your screwed and its all your dads fault.. have a nice day!

thanx for the reply
I still don't understand somethings... For example in a 5k diet 50% pro 30%carbs 20%fat, doesn't 50% protein equal 625gms or 2500k calories. that's alot of protein. I know I'm missing the point somewhere. Without newbies who would we laugh at?

Bulk, Dont be afraid of EFA's, This year I have been taking 3 tablespoons of Flaxseed oil with 1 tablespoon of Safflower oil and the results have been awesome. These are easy calories too, so lower your protien intake and increase your fat intake to 30 % Dont forger to eat whole eggs too. Good Luck Bro

Whoops bulkn, you misread EXTREME's ratios. he wrote 50% CARBS/30%protein/20%fat. So for a 5K diet that would be around 1500 cals from protein, or about 350-400 grams.
