The package says it takes 45 minutes to cook. Are there any other safe carbs to eat that dont take so long? IP: Logged |

My rice is quaker salt free plain rice cakes. Only ingrediant in them is brown rice. Takes about 5 seconds to un-do the twist tie and pull a couple cakes out of the bag. IP: Logged |

Van - if you cook a batch over the weekend you will have enough to last you all week. The quicker cooking stuff has the fiberous husk removed (along with a lot of good vit/mins). So its worth it to cook it before hand and then use as needed. It keeps in the fridge for about a week. Also you can presoak it if you want but this is too much trouble for me - if you presoak it for four hours or more it cuts the cooking time in half. Don't forget about oatmeal, beans (canned low sodium kind) etc. There are lots of good whole wheat pasta's out there now too if you eat flour. ------------------ IP: Logged |
