I am a 5'6" female that weighs 165. I started lifting eight months ago. I went from 25% bodyfat in November to 15.9% at the end of June. I'm stuck and I need help with a diet. I'm getting frustrated because I'm not losing anymore. I know my nutrition has been poor. I just don't know what to eat.

The best way I've learned to lose fat is to eat often. Try eating every 3hrs at first.Set yourself up a semi-strict eating regimin and follow it.
I'm eating 3 food meals, and 3 protein drinks in between. Just make sure to eat often as it speeds up the metabolism. Good food sources for a bodybuilder are tuna, chicken, turkey, cottage cheese for protein. Green veggies for carbs and fats come from your protein sources, but don't limit them too drastically or you'll lose muscle. Aim for 10-15% of your calories from fat. I'm currently 142 at 5'6. I'm eating 1900 cal day carbs 130g,protein 130g, and fat 20-25g.
I'm losing weight slow enough that I'm sure it will stay off for good. I'm following the "One meal a day plan" look under my name in the archives on diet. Seems its working well for me.

I eat several meals a day as well (8) but I take in more protein and fat than Rach. Daily I'm at about 215g pro, 150g carb, 50-60g fat. I try to eat my "starchy" carbs early in the day like oatmeal, brown rice, beans and fiberous carbs in the afternoon eve like broccoli, green leafy veggies etc. I've had to add flax, natural pb, avo's etc to get my fat intake up to a decent level since the rest of my intake is so lean. For protein I eat egg, egg whites, chicken, 4%fat ground beef, ground turkey breast etc. I do supplement w/protein powder as well.

So, try cutting out starchy carbs for your last few meals, drink lots and lots and lots of water, make sure you are getting a good balance of all your macronutrients. I aim for 40-30-30 and that seems to work well for me...no sugar cravings, good energy etc.

There's good info here and on the women's discussion board about diet so eat it up! (poor pun I know)

wHAT WORKS FOR mer and its simple enough to write on my hand: only eat stuff as it came naturally or at least as close to natural. This means no Special K but Oatmeal or at least Grape Nuts, also make everything dont eat out. Check out the superhydration article at Classicx.com or net
